African National Congress launches leather jacket line

The African National Congress (ANC), the majority party in the South African government, has introduced a new line of leather jackets in a bid to inspire a sense of identity among its members.
The 19-piece jacket collection features a range of styles and uses traditional ANC colours—black, green and gold—but in a much brighter form. Added details include glowing buttons, neon yellow zips and the party’s wheel, spear and shield logo. Prices vary from around 1,620 rand ($213) to 1,944 rand ($256).
However, critics have described the jackets as unfashionable and exclusive, as their high price tags will prevent some members from buying the items.
