Sales growth for Tod's, despite US

High-end footwear and leathergoods brand Tod's has reported an increase in 2009 sales, with a full-year total of EUR 713.1 million, compared to EUR 707.9 million last year.
The group's Hogan footwear brand grew its sales by 7.6% in 2009 compared to the year before and brought in EUR 256.9 million. The Tod's brand itself is still the biggest for the group, but its sales were down 2.2% to EUR 348.8 million.
However, commentators in Italy have been encouraged by the fact that Tod's grew its overall business there by 5.5% last year, reaching a total of EUR 405.1 million in sales. This contrasts with a decline of 6.4% in the rest of Europe and an important decrease (21.7%) in its sales totals for the US market.
