25/01/2010

Turkish leather garment manufacturer and retailer Derimod has been running a campaign to collect old leather jackets and coats from customers, offering them a discount on a new product.

During the exercise the company has collected 30,000 used garments, which it has repaired or reconditioned and handed over to humanitarian organisation the Turkish Red Crescent. The organisation’s director general, Tekin Kucukali, explained that the garments would go to students and other people on low incomes.

Derimond ships garments to the US, UK, Germany, France and Japan, in addition to its chain of shops across Turkey.
