New Hermes store to become Las Vegas flagship

15/01/2010

High-end leathergoods brand Hermes opened a new store in Las Vegas on January 15. It opened its first store in the city in the Bellagio complex in 1998, and a second store at the Wynn in 2009. The new outlet will be at The Crystals retail area.

The brand's chief executive in the US, Robert Chavez, told local media in the build-up to the opening that Hermes's existing store at the Bellagio did not suffer after the second store opened in the city. In fact, he said the Bellagio store had seen a growth in sales in 2009. Of the three, he said the new outlet would become the company's flagship store in Las Vegas because it is the biggest and has the most central location.

He also pointed out that the stock in each of the three stores will not necessarily be the same. He explained: "What is unique about Hermes is that every one of our store directors goes to Paris twice a year to do their own buys. They buy for their store. No two boutiques will ever have the same assortment."
