LVMH to recruit Tony Blair

Reports from Paris suggest luxury goods group LVMH my be on the point of announcing former UK prime minister, Tony Blair, as a corporate adviser.

Analysts in the French capital have speculated that Mr Blair, a personal friend of group president, Bernard Arnault, will be able to help LVMH penetrate exciting markets such as India.

Reuters has reported that both parties are at an advanced stage of negotiations over the deal and are now discussing the “fine details”. The news agency also described India as “a laggard of emerging luxury markets” and a country whose luxury goods market, including high-end leathergoods, has the potential to be worth $15 billion a year.
