State-owned companies to retreat from leather

The China Leather Industry Association has reported that state-owned companies in Shanghai are preparing to leave the leather industry.
The authorities there have decided to reduce the number of state-owned enterprises involved in industrial sectors from 79 to 54 within three years. But they have identified seven sectors in which no state-owned enterprise in Shanghai will be involved by that time and leather is one of those.
