COTANCE makes IP leaflets available

12/01/2010

COTANCE, the European Union’s leather industry association, has made information and training material on intellectual property rights available to the leather industry in the framework of an EU sponsored project within a programme called the Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme (CIP).

The work was carried out in cooperation with the University of Alicante in Spain, Europe's National Patent Offices and the European Trade Associations and Research Centres of the Textiles (Euratex) and Furniture (UEA) industries.

The organisation says these guides contain all relevant information for leather sector companies interested in developing their intellectual property strategies and enhancing their competitiveness. A series of leaflets is available for download at this link:

The guides should be of particular help to the sector’s small and medium enterprises, which COTANCE has called “the strength of Europe’s leather and footwear industry”.

COTANCE has said it will promote the guides in the course of 2010, leading up to a conference on the subject in Brussels in October.
