British Airways has announced that it will spend £100 million upgrading its first-class cabins in response to the offering Asian and Middle Eastern carriers, such as Singapore Airlines, are making to customers at this level.

The airline said it had hired London-based interior design consultants Forpeople, who have worked with luxury card brands, including Jaguar and Aston Martin, that use leather extensively in their offerings.
