Bangladesh: leather exports down

The Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) of Bangladesh has said that the total value of leather-sector exports in the first three months of the current financial year (July-October 2009) fell by 11% to $130.2 million compared to the same period last financial year.
Exports of leather footwear were worth $64.6
million compared to $70.1 million in the previous year. Finished leather exports were worth 15.8% less at $59.9 million.
Bangladesh has fixed an export target of $476.8 million for the leather sector out of total target of $17.6 billion for all sectors for this financial year.
