Leather warehouse destroyed in fire

Fire broke out in a leather storage facility in the Indian city of Bangalore on January 10. No one was hurt but the blaze caused considerable material damage in the warehouse, which was full of leather at the time.

It took firefighters an hour to bring the blaze under control after local residents raised the alarm.

Local media quoted eyewitnesses as saying: “The flames engulfed the entire building in no time. The fire was so intense that wooden furniture and other materials in four neighbouring buildings were also burned.”

They also said the warehouse was owned by a local leather trader named Syed Muneer and said an electric short-circuit was the most likely cause of the incident.
