Clariant introduces new leather trend booklet
15/12/2009
Specialty chemicals firm Clariant has launched a new ‘Fashion Up!’ leather trends booklet.
It contains real leather samples to help tanners generate new collections based on the latest seasonal trends. The booklet highlights four main themes for spring-summer 2011.
Bohemian Rhapsody is inspired by the unconventional and artistic temperament of rock stars and rich hippies. Polished, pearl and lustre finishes on leather provide rock star glamour.
Fashion travels back to the dawn of time with Primeval Spirit. It has a raw and primitive feel, drawing on nature’s wildest regions for inspiration.
The Latin Lovers is inspired by gaucho cowboys, glamorous tango dancers and “fiery-spirited” Latinos.
The new leather trends complement the colours in Clariant’s Global Colour Card for the spring-summer 2011, which were developed in collaboration with ModeEurop. It includes cool colours, representing transparency and lightness. Mild shades of green and natural beige are combined with pale skin tones to stimulate thoughts of nature, bionics and ecology. Sweet colour shades such as sorbet, milkshake or fruit yoghurt are designed to “whet the appetite” for new fashion looks.
