BASF to present eco-friendly products at IILF
German chemicals company BASF says it will present a range of innovative and environmentally friendly products at the India International Leather Fair (IILF), which run January 31 to February 3 in Chennai.
These products will include its Basyntan product range of formaldehyde-free syntans, new eco-friendly soft polymers in the Relugan series and new solvent-optimised finishing products offering improved consumer safety and high performance for leather applications.
It will also showcase environmentally friendly Lepton Aquatop TG, a top coat that provides a natural leather touch and transparent look, Lugafast Colorlock Technology, with reactive dyes for colourfast leather, and water-based auxiliary Astacin Top LP, which offers high gloss, transparency and an elegant smooth surface on leather.
Andrea Ceretta, head of BASF’s leather business in Southern Asia, said: “Our products and processes focus on environmentally friendly and economical solutions which ensure high-quality ecological products. It is gratifying that environmental protection and sustainable development are more important than ever. We are aware of our responsibility in this regard and have positioned ourselves accordingly.”
A team comprising specialists from the firm’s Southern Asia competence centre will be at the booth to advice customers and inform them about BASF’s product range.
