Banks to help tanners buy raw materials
26/11/2009
Three state-owned banks in Bangladesh have said they will make almost $60 million available in loans to the country’s tanners. With the loans, tanners will be able to take advantage of the high levels of slaughter around the forthcoming feast of Eid-Ul-Azha to stock up on raw materials.
They said the loans will become available to the tannery owners by November 26.
The financial institutions involved are the Janata Bank, the Agrani Bank and the Sonali Bank.
