Shoe sales up, leathergoods down for Tod's

Italian luxury shoe and bag maker Tod's has reported an increase in revenues of 1.8% for the first three quarters of 2009 compared to the same period last year. Sales for the nine-month period were EUR 559.4 million.

Of this, profits were EUR 129.3 million, an increase of 0.4% on the 2008 figure.

Shoe sales rose by 5.8% and had a value of EUR 395.8 million. But leathergoods and accessories sales fell 11.4% to EUR 85.8 million, while Tod's clothes sales fell 1% to EUR 77.3 million.
 
In terms of geography, sales were up in Italy and Asia, but down in the rest of Europe and North America.
