Madoff handbags come under the hammer

A collection of luxury handbags belonging to the wife of Bernard Madoff will feature in an auction of the couple’s belongings in New York on November 14.
Mr Madoff was sentenced in June to 150 years in prison for carrying out a fraudulent investment operation; the auction will seek to raise money to help his victims.
The bags that will come under the hammer include 11 from Hermès, as well as handbags from Chanel, Prada, Jil Sander, Judith Leiber, Bottega Veneta and Louis Vuitton.
