Hermès sees leathergoods sales grow by 25%

Luxury leathergoods brand Hermès has reported that its sales continued to improve in October and has said it is optimistic about the Christmas period.

“We are optimistic about the end of the year and about Christmas,” finance director, Mireille Maury, told Reuters in an interview.

Revenue from the group’s own stores, which represent 80% of turnover, rose by 12% during the third quarter, showing strong growth in Asia, Europe and the US.

The company took in revenues of EUR 452.1 million in the third quarter and said leathergoods sales had increased by 25% during the period.
