Pakistani tanners consider Lineapelle a success
According to the Pakistan Tanners’ Association (PTA), Pakistani tanners who attended Lineapelle (Bologna, October 13-15) received orders for finished leather worth $5 million.
Approximately 19 Pakistani finished leather exporters attended the fair, of which nine participated under the PTA banner.
PTA chairman, Gulzar Feroz, said that $5 million worth of orders have already been finalised and that a further two million are expected to be completed in the next few weeks.
"It is revealed from the reports received from member participants that an estimated business concluded during the fair is worth $5 million on various specific items of finished leather like sheep, goat, cow and buffalo, which are used in manufacturing of shoes, leather garments and other products," he said.
Mr Feroz added that around 600-800 visitors and buyers visited Pakistani stalls during the fair from a range of countries including the US, Malaysia, Mexico, Korea and Australia.
