China: exports of leather shoes fall again

Exports of leather footwear from China fell again in August, the latest month for which figures are available.

The China Leather Industry Association said the decline in exports in August 2009 compared to the same month in 2008 was of 23.7% in volume and 18.9% in value.

Total exports of leather shoes in the first eight months of the year reached 500 million pairs with a combined value of $5.57 billion.
