Japanese fashion group Yohji Yamamoto, which has included leather bags, shoes and jackets in recent collections, has filed for bankruptcy protection.
In a statement, the company made it clear that the decision would have no effect on its subsidiaries overseas. Even in Japan, its wholesale and retail activities will continue, with Yohji Yamamoto as chief designer, under the supervision of the courts.
