Korea to apply restricted substance regulations to all clothing

12/10/2009

Reports from Asia suggest the government in South Korea has decided to apply a ban on formaldehyde to all shoes and clothing.

The ban already applies to goods that can come into contact with the skin for children aged less than two, but the government is now seeking to apply the restrictions to clothing and footwear for all children and adults.

It is expected to introduce a new standard that manufacturers and brands will have to meet to be able to sell to Korean consumers.
