According to reports, leathergoods brand Coach has filed a lawsuit against Target Corporation for allegedly copying two handbag designs. The lawsuit was filed on October 1 in the US District Court in Manhattan, New York.

Coach is alleging that Target has copied its Erago and patchwork designs, both of which were released in 2008. It claims two of Target’s designs bear “exact and/or confusingly similar reproductions.” It is seeking an undisclosed amount in damages, legal fees, and all of the profits generated from the sale of the bags in question. It is also requesting that Target be banned from using the Erago and Patchwork handbag designs.
