Value of leathergoods imports declines

The current value of imports of leathergoods into the Chinese market is lower than last year.
Overall, China imported products worth $2.49 billion during the first seven months of the year, the full period for which figures are available so far. This represents a drop of 23.7% compared to the first seven months of 2008.
The decline for the month of July, compared to the same month last year, was 18.2%.
