Watchmaker offers leather options for new mobile handset

Swiss watchmaker TAG Heuer has launched a new website to allow customers of its Meridiist mobile phone handset to customise the device to suit their own tastes.
Choices include four shades of alligator leather in the finish of the device and two of calfskin.
Product designer, Christoph Behling, said at the launch of the new facility: “Nobody has done a luxury mobile phone to this degree before. We’ve brought in all these elements from watchmaking, including the finishing options.”
