Wenzhou company took orders for $5 million on day one of ACLE

Sources in China have reported that the Fareast Leather Group, a Wenzhou-based company that exports leather, footwear and belts, received $5 million worth of orders from overseas buyers on the first day of the ACLE event that took place in Shanghai in the first week of September. A comany spokesperson has said that the total orders Fareast Leather took at the exhibition could be worth more than $8 million.
The company cut back production in the wake of the global economic downturn, but on the strength of these new orders, it has announced that it will move back up now to 60% of capacity.
It has said that a shoe lining leather that is chrome-free has proved particularly popular.
