Australian beef exports on the rise

The volume of Australia’s beef exports in the month of August rose by 12% compared to the same month last year. The total amount going into overseas markets was just over 78,000 tonnes.
The biggest increases were in exports to South Korea, the US and Indonesia. Shipments to South Korea increased by 60% compared to August 2008, and those to Indonesia, 4,330 tonnes during the month, are at a record high. Exports to the US were up by 50%.
