Bangladesh leather exports fall in July

Bangladesh's Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) has reported that total leather sector export fell by 5.7% to $37.2 million in the month of July 2009, down from $39.4 million in the same month last year.
The breakdown showed that Bangladesh exported leather footwear worth $21 million from $18.6 million, showing growth of 13%. On a more negative note, exports of leather bags and purses fell by 18.5% to $1.4 million from $1.7 million. Finished leather fell by 22.7% to $14.8 million from $19.1 million in same month last year.
