ACLE closes after three encouraging days
The All China Leather Exhibition (ACLE) closed in Shanghai on September 4 with most exhibitors saying the event had offered some encouragement for the months ahead.
Official visitor numbers are not yet available, but numbers on the first day were impressive, with long queues to gain access to the New Shanghai Exhibition Centre and most stands busy throughout the morning and afternoon.
Things began to quieten down on the afternoon of the middle day and, by midday on the September 4, few visitors were left.
"It's been encouraging," one senior figure in the global tanning industry said. "We have had some very senior people on our stand and discussions have been good. I think it's too soon to say the tough times are behind us, but we have, at least, been able to take some encouragement from ACLE."
