Bertin considers IPO
According to reports, Brazilian beef and leather exporter Bertin is thinking about selling stock in an initial public offering in order to raise cash and fund future investments.
The company expects sales to rise 25% in 2009 to approximately 9.4 billion reais ($5 billion). However, in order to meet this target, director, Fernando Falco, has said the group needs to improve its capital structure.
"We are talking with financial institutions looking for a market boost to prepare ourselves for an initial offering," Mr Falco told Valor Economico Brazilian newspaper.
