Kolkata firm announces ambitious expansion plans

Kolkata-based Kanpur Leather House (KLH) has announced plans to expand rapidly in the next year or two.

The company, which makes a wide range of luggage and leathergoods, is planning to open showrooms in every state capital and establish at least 100 franchises across India before the end of 2010.

The company currently has several showrooms in Kolkata as well as in Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand. Deals are now being finalised for Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Ahmedabad. The Mumbai and Delhi facilities are expected to be operational by the end of 2009.
Managing director, Mr I Khurshaidi, said: “We plan to bring about constant innovation in every sphere of multifaceted product-mix with all uniqueness in quality. Very soon, KLH will position itself among the foremost accredited brands around India. Plans are afoot to open company operations in Europe the Middle East and China”.
KLH’s aim is to reach every household with at least one KLH product by making its products more widely available and accessible.
