The centre, which will span more than five square-miles, will welcome companies from a range of sectors including the leather and textile industries. A new training centre will be built at the site, which will also include medical facilities and temporary accommodation.
According to the firm, Akgün Construction and Machinery, up to a million people could eventually be employed at the industrial centre. It is expected to cost around $2 billion to set up.
