Monthly growth for Pakistan leather sector

Pakistan's leather sector exports grew by 2.5% month-on-month in July, according to its Federal Bureau of Statistics. Exports for the sector totalled $77.4 million compared with $75.5 million in June. However, compared with July 2008, when exports totalled $109.541 million, exports fell 29.3%.

The country exported finished leather worth $22.1 million, leathergoods worth $43.2 million and footwear worth $12 million in July compared with $21.5 million, $43 million and $11 million, respectively, in June. This showed a month-on-month rise of 3% for finished leather, 0.5% for leathergoods and 9.2% for footwear.
