Strike in Vietnam over wages

Around 1,000 workers at a leather shoe firm in Vietnam are believed to have gone on strike over pay issues.

Workers at the An Thinh company in the southern Binh Duong province were reportedly on strike for the second day today. They are said to be asking for a10% wage rise.

According to the Vietnam Leather and Footwear Association, Lefaso, the company produces just over 4,000 pairs of leather shoes each year. Its main export markets include Germany, New Zealand, Spain and France.
