German chemicals company Lanxess has revealed its latest trends for autumn-winter 2010-11. The trends were created in Italy, where the company has a competence centre, including a laboratory and applications development department.

The three new trends are Technological Inspiration, Creative Emotion and Elegant Passion.
According to Lanxess, Technological Inspiration is inspired by the past but with the technology of the future. It uses new developments and materials that aim to give rise to “revolutionary visions that shape tomorrow”. The emphasis is on ecological articles. Light and dark blues combine with white and grey shades.

Creative Emotion is a form of new modernism that comes out of nature and the spirit. Materials are soft with a cosy feel. Colours vary from bright violet to a warm red in combination with various earthy brown shades.
Elegant Passion is designed to portray the frenetic rhythms of a new metro­politan elegance following the Haute Couture of the past. It is a style that captivates the senses and is timeless. Nubuck and super-soft brush-off are the materials of choice. Calm brown shades dominate the trend highlighted by meadow green and pale blue.
