According to reports, Kenya’s government has come up with a new way to support the country’s leather industry.

It has introduced a new course, which will debut at the University of Nairobi. The new leather science technology course will be taught through the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.

The country’s secretary for industry, Professor John Lonyangapuo, has said he believes that the country’s leather sector earnings of around 4.5 billion shillings ($60 million) per year, could double with the necessary help and support. The leather industry currently lacks skilled workers.
