India to explore new leather markets

Reports indicate that an Indian leather delegation will travel across the globe with various stops in North America, Africa and other countries.

An official at the Iranian Leather Industry Association Hassan Nasiriyan revealed that Iran would be welcoming the delegation in the near future. He hopes improved relations between the two countries’ leather sectors will help to improve bilateral trade.

According to reports, many Indian leather producers have been forced to cut production by more than 30% as a result of the global economic slowdown. Delegates hope the trips will offer new opportunities for leather, leathergoods and footwear exporters.
