A Chinese company was ordered by a Shanghai court to pay more than $70,000 in compensation to French luxury brand Louis Vuitton for selling fake LV products. The company involved was the Shanghai Zhongwen Trade Company.

The founders of the company began to sell counterfeit LV bags, wallets and other products in 2001 and they set up the company on the back of this activity, the court heard. The authorities had already taken action against them on two occasions.
