Coach aims for growth in China

Leathergoods brand Coach has said it is aiming to achieve annual sales of $250 million in the Chinese market within five years.
The US-based company has 26 outlets in China at the moment: including eight in Hong Kong, two in Macau, and four each in Shanghai and Beijing. Coach says its share of the handbag market there is 3%, based on an estimate that the market for handbags in China today is worth $1.2 billion a year.
However, it believes that it can achieve significant growth in this expanding market and that, in five years' time, it could have a 10% share of a market worth $2.5 billion a year.
