Dow recognised for sustainability efforts

Dow China was recently recognised as one of the “Top Ten Energy Conservation and Emissions Reduction Corporations” at the Fourth China Summit on the Development of Circular Economy, part of the 2009 China Beijing International High-tech Industries Week.

Dow ranked number one in the chemical industry for its operational eco-efficiency and contributions to emissions reduction in
China
and worldwide.

," said Dennis Chung, Dow’s Asia Pacific director, sustainability and environmental health and safety. “Sustainability drives Dow’s every business decision. We are dedicated to providing eco-friendly and energy saving solutions that help to address China’s most pressing development challenges.”

In
China, the company has applied stringent sustainability standards to all its plants and locations. For example, the new Shanghai Dow Center, its business and innovation hub in Asia Pacific, was designed and constructed as a “green building”.
