New PielColor headquarters in China

Spain-based leather company PielColor opened a new headquarters in Guangzhou, China, on June 4. The 1,200 square-metre site will also be the main testing laboratory for China.

On opening the new premises, Stahl CEO, Huub van Beijeran, said: "
China is the most important leather market and therefore it is a must for Pielcolor to have a professional organisation in China, with the right facilities. Pielcolor used to be a Spanish company; it developed into an international company, but from today onwards, after this opening, it is also a Chinese company.”

Manel Orts, general manager of Pielcolor worldwide, and Enrique Pelegrin, general manager of Pielcolor in China, also spoke at the official opening ceremony.

Mr van Beijeran explained that PielColor, which is now part of the Stahl group, remains a separate company operating under its own name. However, the two companies will share some facilities, including Stahl's recently opened distribution facility just outside Shanghai.

Mr van Beijeran said PielColor has been building up a healthy customer base within China and PielColor's key account manager, Mah Gim Teng, said the company has a team of technicians in China to help customers on site. If this was not sufficient, the problem would be referred to the new Guangzhou laboratory and, if the problem still remained unresolved it would be sent on to Spain for further tests.
