PLGMEA eyes Russian market
Chairman of the Pakistan Leather Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PLGMEA), Fawad Khan, believes Pakistani leather garment exporters should look to Russia as an important market for their products. He also said the government should make an effort to overcome trade barriers in the Russian market.
Mr Khan gave these comments at the end of Moscow-based trade fair Le Show, which ran May 27-29. Seven Pakistani exhibitors attended the event and, according to reports, the response was positive, despite the effects of the economic downturn.
The chairman said that the leather apparel market in Russia is worth around $800 million, making it the second largest after the US.
