Luxury hotel opens in Kingston

05/06/2009

The first hotel to open in Kingston, Jamaica, for almost 40 years is to open on June 14. According to its owners, the Crissa Group, it offers guests a real sense of comfort and luxury.

Designer Alison Antrobus has used bold Jamaica-inspired colours, patterns, shapes and materials in the public spaces, while the ultramodern rooms and suites boast all the modern conveniences such as large, flat-screen TVs and hot tubs.

An infinity-edge pool can be found in the Sky Terrace and the Sky Bar offers great views of the city and the Blue Mountains that surround it.

Having found many hotel lobbies sterile and uncomfortable, Ms Antrobus decided to inject a real sense of luxury into communal areas, to offer friends and colleagues an inviting place to meet. Guests can relax on leather couches and high-back chairs in the "library”, or enjoy the bean-shaped leather benches and Martin Fluss chandeliers in the reception area.
