ALCA meeting programme revealed
The American Leather Chemists Association (ALCA) will host its 105th Annual Meeting at the Oglebay Resort & Conference Center in Wheeling, West Virginia.
The official opening of the convention will begin with registration on June 18 from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm and a cocktail reception will take place from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm at The West Plaza. A buffet dinner from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm will complete the evening.
ALCA president, Stephen Yanek, will open the technical programme at 8.00 am on Friday. This year’s technical programme has been organised by vice president, David LeBlanc, and will cover the whole tanning to finishing process and environmental issues.
As previously announced (see www.leatherbiz.com 17.03.09), the John Arthur Wilson Lecture will feature Eleanor Brown, research chemist/lead scientist with the Eastern Regional Research Center, Agricultural Research Service, United States Department of Agriculture.
The technical sessions will end at 4:15 pm followed by a Fun Run at 5:00 pm. Friday’s activities will end with a buffet in the Glessner Ballroom and Monte Carlo night.
Technical papers will resume Saturday morning at 8.00 am with the Annual Business Meeting ending the morning sessions at 10:45 am. Technical papers will resume in the afternoon from 1.00 pm until 4:00 pm with the Awards Banquet Social Hour beginning at 6:00 pm in the Glessner Ballroom. Dinner will follow at 7:00 pm with the awards presentations afterwards.
