Meat exports on the up

Pakistan's minister for livestock and dairy development, Mir Humayun Aziz Kurd has said that World Organisation of Animal Health (OIE) has declared
Pakistan free from Rinderpest disease, which affects cattle and buffalo.

He added that this announcement had led to an increase in the export of meat from Pakistan, from $36.4 million in the 2007-2008 fiscal year to $53.7 million in 2008-2009, a rise of 46%.
