No new hides for Hyderabad tanneries

The chief minister of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, has ordered officials to close down tanneries operating in the Bholakpur district of Hyderabad.
From May 15, no new hides were to be allowed into Bholakpur, according to the times of India, and the authorities gave tanners four days to use up existing stocks of hides.
Tanners in this part of the city are going to have to find a new site on which to set up operations.
