Whittemore Wright pays tribute to former employee

Boston-based manufacturer of tanning oils Whittemore Wright has announced the death earlier this year of Kenny Kantola, the company's sales representative in the Midwest for 25 years, from 1974 until 1999.

Before joining Whittemore Wright, Mr Kantola had worked in a tannery in his home town, Waukegan, Illinois. He was a member of the American Leather Chemists' Association (ALCA) from 1974 until 1999 and, away from work, a keen golfer and hunter.

In a personal tribute, Whittemore Wright president, Charlie Hoyt, said of Mr Kantola: "He was like a father to me while I was learning the leather industry. When my father died in 1985, my brother Karl and I kept Whittemore Wright running. We couldn't have done it without the guidance of Kenny Kantola."
