NETC seminar a success
06/05/2009
The New England Tanners Club (NETC) recently held its annual educational seminar at the Portsmouth Sheraton Harbor Side hotel in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
The technical programme included a presented by Stephen Rose of SATRA Technology Center, which covered a wide array of leather industry topics such as common complaints and problems identified within the leather footwear industry, the impact of REACH, and different leather testing methods.
Aside from this year’s technical seminar there were numerous opportunities for social interaction between all 45 attendees, with representatives of footwear brands, chemical suppliers, New England tanners and retired members of New England’s tanning industry all present.
The organisation's next event will be a golf outing scheduled for October. Secretary and treasurer, John Rodden, said: "This is an opportunity for all interested in supporting the NETC while enjoying a round of golf, followed by dinner and the presentation prizes. If you would like to attend the golf outing or become a member of the New England Tanners Club please contact Johnrodden@unionspecialtiesinc.com."
The NETC is a non-profit organisation designed to offer continuing information on the tanning industry through technical seminars, educational outings and sales of the NETC Leather Facts publication.
