Prison-made handbag for the princess

Princess Cristina of Spain received the gift of a leather handbag made by inmates of Villabona prison after visiting the institution at the end of April.
The princess, the second daughter of King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofía, presided over the opening of a new IT suite in the prison's education unit, but took time to visit a series of workshops already in place in the institution in Asturias in the north of Spain.
Prisoners learning to work with leather in one of the workshops had produced the bag in advance of her visit.
