Trumpler hosts practical seminar

16/04/2009

In conjunction with the British School of Leather Technology at the University of Northampton, German leather chemicals company Trumpler recently organised a four-day practical seminar for MSc and BSc students.

Trumpler’s David Burgess and Kevin Banning presented several lectures at the event covering a wide range of leathermaking topics. In addition, a practical session saw raw hides taken to wet blue as well as examining modern, high-performance, water-resistant leather and clothing sheepskins.

Commenting on the seminar, Mr Burgess said that it gave him great pleasure to see that the school was still flourishing with students coming from across the globe to learn not only the technology and science behind leather manufacture but also the practical aspects.
