New senior appointment at Lectra

France-based CAD/CAM provider Lectra has named Simon Poulton vice president of strategic fashion and PLM sales for Lectra North America. Based in New York City, Mr Poulton will report to Roy Shurling, president of Lectra North America, and will be responsible for strengthening and extending the company's position in the fashion and retail sectors, as well as looking to increase revenue through its PLM offering.

Mr Poulton has more than 30 years' experience in the apparel and technology industries, including a number of years spent with Lectra. He has held sales and leadership roles at various companies in the apparel industry, including Wal-Mart, Gap, Liz Claiborne, JC Penney, The Limited and Levi Strauss.

"Simon Poulton is taking on this position under difficult economic conditions for our industry. We are happy to have him back. His wealth of knowledge and experience in the apparel industry will help enlarge our strategic fashion business," said Mr Shurling.
