Leathergoods lose market share
According to data released by General Statistics Office of Vietnam, the country’s exports totalled $8 billion in the first two months of the year. The share of leather footwear and leathergoods stood at $762 million compared with $889 million in January and February 2008, a decline of 14.29%,
The breakdown showed that Vietnam exported leather footwear worth $658 million and leathergoods worth $104 million during the two-month period compared with $769 million and $120 million in the previous year, a decline 14.4% and 13.3%, respectively.
